The demand for quality surface treatment of mechanical parts is becoming higher in the recent years. Some of the common treatments include hot stamping, HDG, chemical conversion coating treatment etc. Below are reasons why HDG is used:

1. Protection Coverage

According to experimental studies, HDG is the first choice for coating as it protects steel pipe on every surface, including inside, outside, corners and narrows gaps by dipping steel into molten zinc. This is not achievable in the case of brushed, sprayed and other dipped coatings.

2. Aesthetic

The color of an ordinary steel pipe looks dull and inconsistent without coating. However, with HDG, the surface of coated steel will have a consistent color throughout along with a protective coating.

3. Reliability

HDG reduces the maintenance rate of steel pipe for at least 70 years depending on the environment. It prevents steel from corroding, increasing strength and lowering lifetime cost as it does not need much maintenance.

The rapid development of surface treatment technology has enabled more products to meet abrasion resistance, positive aesthetic, and other functions. With HDG, steel pipe is able to have a longer shelf life, less maintenance cost, and aesthetically pleased.
